Converts Cost Raiders Tight One Against MOJO

SASKATOON (Rec B) The Raiders swung hard and had Nicholas Boyko and Co. on the ropes, but in the end couldn't quite manage to keep up with the high flying MOJO offense.

To date, this was the most entertaining "Feature Game of the Week" as these two offensive powerhouses were able to go to work often. With both offenses combining for over 350 yards and 7 touchdowns, the points came fast and furious. MOJO would be the first to strike after quarterback and team manager Nicholas Boyko found former U of S Huskie Football standout Shane Buchanan for a 35 yard score.

"You know it was just a great ball from Nick (Boyko), he put it where I could grab it. After that, play makers just got to make plays. That's what I did," said Buchanan in an AFFL on-field interview after the game.

The Raiders who drove the ball well all game, lost in two major categories which ultimately cost them the game. They were only able to convert on one touchdown and they lost the turnover battle. Quarterback, Matthew Okrainec, threw a season high of four interceptions, leading to MOJO scores on three of the four turnovers. His counterpart Nicholas Boyko, didn't fair much better in the turnover department as he racked up a tie for a season high of three interceptions.

"We don't ever expect one guy to win us a game. Tonight we needed guys to bail us out of the field position that I gave The Raiders. I shouldn't have forced a couple of those balls, but I did. As a team, we found a way to get the job done. That's what MOJO is about and always has been about," commented Boyko.

The Raiders answered each of the MOJO majors with a score of their own, but failed to get converts when needed. On the last play of the game, The Raiders had an opportunity to score a walk off touchdown on third down and goal. Chris Morgan, the MOJO rusher who was relentless all night, was not going to let that happen and was able to record his second sack of the evening and put this one in the books. It was an incredible display of athleticism and determination by the young MOJO defender.

Mark your calendars for March 28th, the next time these two teams will square off. You will not be disappointed.
