The Wolfpack have had a rough first-half of the summer season, not being able to obtain a victory. All that changed in the first week of the latter half of the season. And it came in thrilling fashion.
Sarah Cowan, who has been the receiving leader for the team through the first six weeks, and she showed it. Scoring 3 of the teams 4 touchdowns and accounting for 129 yards, her play hoisted Wolfpack to the victory. Lindsey Townsend complete a pass to Danielle Archdekin for the other score.
After stumbling out of the gates, the Wolfpack were down 13-0 early after a pair of touchdowns from Black Ice quarterback, Cori Thorstad. After a quick answer, Thorstad threw two more scores to take a comanding 26-6 lead.
Lindsey Townsend was not done though, as she mounted the comeback, throwing three unanswered touchdowns. Sarah Cowan caught the final 4 scoring passes, including a 2-point convert to give the Wolfpack a 1 point lead. It was the daring mentality from the ladies that lifted them to the victory. Down 20, having yet to have won a game, it would've been easy to mail it in. However, that was when they played some of their best ball yet.
Their offense was seemingly unstoppable, and their defense was balling out. They made clean tackles, covered tightly, and pressured the quarterback. It was a full team victory and a daring one at that.
